The 2017 Kia Rio will be available in LX and EX trim levels. We don’t yet have pricing for the top-of-the-line SX or an idea if it will be returning this model year.
The base LX will have a starting MSPR of $14,165, which can fit neatly into many budgets. The more advanced EX trim is available starting at $17,755. Both of these starting MSRPs exclude an $850 destination fee. We are still waiting on pricing for optional features like various transmission options.
While models like the 2017 Kia Forte will get a revised engine for the new model year, both lower trims of the 2017 Kia Rio will come outfitted with the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine rated for 138 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque that graced the 2016 Kia Rio. Either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission will be available.
With the manual transmission , the LX trim of the 2017 Kia Rio will offer up to 27 mpg in city driving and 31 mpg on the highway. With the automatic transmission, both the LX and the EX trims will offer 27 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
Other advantages of the 2017 Kia Rio will include 13.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and technological advantages like the UVO eServices infotainment system.
