The 2018 Memorial Day holiday is almost here. While many of us will be outside enjoying the summer sun, it is important to remember what this holiday is all about. There are many military and veterans’ museums near Irvine CA that are offering Memorial Day events, or are great places to visit on the holiday.

The Lyon Air Museum displays a wide variety of aircraft, rare vehicles and other memorabilia. The displays at the museum emphasis World War II. Displays include a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and the Mitchell B-25.
Admission to the Heroes Hall Veterans Museum is a free, year-round museum and education center with a variety of exhibits and educational programs. The Heroes Hall honors veterans from Orange County and all others that have served America.
The Pretend City Children’s Museum will be holding a Memorial Day Celebration from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Monday, May 28, 2018. The celebration will include a morning Pledge of Allegiance and a monument of silence. Afternoon activities include Music & Movement at 3:30 pm.
This museum is home to the largest collection of military vehicles, artillery and other equipment on the West Coast. Displays include over 170 historical pieces covering military operations from the First World War to Operation Desert Storm.
Planes of Fame first opened in 1957. This great museum started with just 10 planes but has now grown to include an extensive collection of over 150 aircraft.
