2021 Kia K5 1.6L Turbo I-4 Engine
The primary engine option found on the 2021 Kia K5 is a 1.6L turbo 4-cylinder engine. This is the only engine option that was available with the 2021 Kia K5 when it first arrived at dealerships. The 1.6L turbo engine is able to deliver a performance output of 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The FWD versions of the 2021 Kia K5 achieve fuel economy ratings of 29 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway with this engine. However, these fuel economy ratings are reduced when the engine is paired with AWD, offering 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The 2021 Kia K5 LX, LXS, GT-Line, and EX trim levels all come standard with the 1.6L turbo engine.
2021 Kia K5 2.5L Turbo I-4 Engine
The 2021 Kia K5 secondary engine option is a 2.5L turbo 4-cylinder engine that was not available during the initial release of the performance sedan. As a result, its fuel economy ratings have yet to be formally tested and released. However, the engine options performance specifications are available, and they are quite impressive. The 2.5L turbo engine is able to generate 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. This engine option is only available on the 2021 Kia K5 GT trim level.
