The 2018 Kia Forte is available in four trim levels: LX, S, EX and SX. More specifically, sedans are available in the LX, S and EX trims and hatchbacks are available in LX, EX and SX models.
2018 Kia Forte Engine Options & Fuel Economy
Three engines are available for 2018 Kia Forte sedans and hatchbacks. LX trim sedans and hatchbacks and S trim sedans come equipped with a four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine. EPA ratings for this engine are 29 miles per gallon for city driving and 37 miles per gallon for highway driving, for a combined rating of 32 miles per gallon.
The EX trim sedan and hatchback come with a more powerful (164 horsepower compared to the previous engine’s 147) four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine. This engine received ratings of 25 miles per gallon for city driving, 33/34 (sedan/hatchback) miles per gallon for highway driving, and a combined rating of 28 miles per gallon.
The third engine option, only available for the hatchback-exclusive SX trim, is a turbocharged four-cylinder 1.6-liter engine. The ratings for the 1.6L engine are 23 miles per gallon for city driving, 29 miles per gallon for highway driving and a combined rating of 25 miles per gallon.
