The founding of Irvine, CA

Irvine, California, may have officially been founded in the 1960s, but its roots run much deeper. The area was originally part of the vast Rancho San Joaquin land grant, where agriculture reigned supreme. Transformation in the 1960s

The transformation of Irvine began in the 1960s when the Irvine Company, a major landholder, set out to create something new and visionary: a planned community.
